Coming Out The Closet

I recently had a conversation with a man from Trinidad who is gay and we began talking about sex.

Gay Man: When I was child, one of my mothers friends told my mom that I was gay

Seductress, Rill: When did you come out to your family?

Gay Man: I told my aunt and my brother first and they were very supportive, however it took me a while to tell my mom, but when I finally did she was supportive as well

Seductress, Rill: Is that your boyfriend? (a man that didn't appear to be gay basis on looks/mannerism)

Gay Man: Yes and he's not gay (a CONFUSED look flashed across my face)

Seductress, Rill: He's your boyfriend and he's not gay please, explain?

Gay Man: He's straight, he has a seven year old son

Seductress, Rill: Your his first.. Has he come out to his family....his son?

Gay Man: He hasn't and he don't want to talk about his son

Seductress, Rill: How did you two meet?

Gay Man: We met at a social event (it wasn't a gay event) we exchanged numbers and two days later I received a text that said, "what happen to you that night? I thought want to hangout". I told my roommate that this guy was texting me... I was really nervous. My roommate took my phone, started texting the guy and finally asked, want to come over? and he agree. He came over we talked, chilled and he spent the night. In the morning, I made breakfast. It was real cute

Seductress, Rill: Did you two have sex?

Gay Man: No, I'm not like that (Am I the only person, that thinks gay people are loose?...it's a trouble stereotype)

Seductress, Rill: He seems to very supportive (while we were talking his boyfriend left and came back with flowers....aaaaaawwwww!

Gay Man: I have never been with a man so supportive

Seductress, Rill: So you are guys are having sex now?

Gay Man: Yes

Seductress, Rill: Before you two have sex, did you guys talk about who is going to be penetrated? (in gay terms whose the top & bottom)

Gay Man: When we had sex we are in the moment and our goal was to please each other

Seductress, Rill: Exactly! that what sex is all about pleasing each other. Was he hesitate to get into the groove

Gay Man: He wanted to have sex with me, so there was no unwanted tension

Seductress, Rill: Many Blessing to You & Your Boyfriend

I glad for shows like Empire & Star for showing the world how coming out as a black gay man to family/community/world and the difficulties they face. If you are struggling with this issue male or female? Remember FEAR is a sign of HOPELESSNESS and your not hopeless, Honey your FIERCE!
